Lagunitas’ Seasonal Release Schedule
January 16, 2008 by Mario
I’m getting older, and in my old age, I have grown an aversion to buying 6-packs. Why? I rarely drink more than one beer at a time, and when I look in my fridge, I want a choice. Mixed 6 packs and 22 oz bombers are the way I like to go. Sometimes this takes me out of my way to find the beers I want. But it’s nice to know when I hit Safeway for groceries that I can always find the Lagunitas seasonal release in 22 oz bottles. So I was excited to see the new schedule of seasonal releases for 2008. See the list after the jump.
22 oz. Bombers
- Lumpy Gravy - 22 oz. & kegs (Imperial Amber) -December to March
- Old Gnarly Wine - 22 oz. & kegs (Barley Wine) - March
- We’re Only in it for the Money - 22 oz & kegs (Style TBD) - April to June
- Lucky 13 Ale - 22 oz. & kegs (Big on hops and dark malts) - June to Aug
- Undercover Ale - 22 oz and kegs (Imperial Mild Ale) - Aug to Oct
- Cappuccino Stout - 22 oz and kegs (Coffee stout ale) - Oct to Dec
6 Packs
- Hairy Eyeball - 6 packs & kegs (Big brown warmer) - December to March
- Maximus - 6 packs & kegs (Big ol’ IPA) - March to June
- Sirius Ale - 6 packs & kegs (Hi Gravity Cream Ale) - June to Aug
- Imperial Red - 6 packs & kegs (Spicy, Skunky hops, Big and Rich) - Aug to Oct
- Brown Shugga - 6 packs & kegs (200 lbs of Brown Sugar in each 30 bbl batch) - Oct to Dec.
Very nice. Looks like Brown Shugga and Cappucino Stout are the new holiday specials, although I wish they would swap the bottle size. The Brown Shugga could benefit from the larger bottle and some aging. Lucky 13 is fantastic, as is the Undercover Ale. I like the idea of an Imperial Mild Ale. Kind of like a Black IPA. Only other desire would be for the Maximus to be available in 22 oz as well. Like the Brown Shugga, I think the larger bottle serves the beer better.
This actually reminds me of a thought I had on Lagunitas. I’m not a fan of their 12 oz bottles. There really seems to be a difference in their beer between the 12 and 22 oz. Anyone else notice this?
