What’s Going on This Weekend?
February 7, 2008 by Mario
So, the Suber Bowl is over, no more football to fill your weekend, what now? My suggestion, drink beer. This weekend, there are two destinations you might have in mind, depending on where you live.
I mentioned it before, but this serves as a reminder. The KLCC Microbrew Festival kicks off Friday night at 5pm with an encore Saturday. So if you’re in Eugene, grab $10 and head to the Lane Events Center and make sure to grab a sample of Deschutes’ Abyss. All Designated Drivers get free admission as well as free sodas and coffee. The homebrew competition deadline was the 4th, so unfortunately, if you haven’t submitted your brews, you’re out of luck. Check out their website or read my previous entry on the event here.
If you live in the Bay Area, you’re in for a special treat. The Bistro’s 8th Annual Double IPA Festival takes place Saturday at 11 in Hayward. They are closing Main Street for this one and for $15 you get a glass and 4 taster tickets. If you’ve been to Bistro events in the past, you’ll know this is a great chance to try some exscellent brews. Drake’s of San Leandro will be bringing their Denogginizer and don’t be surprised to see Russian River show up with something amazing. This was to be my pre-birthday celebration, but hopefully others will be able to attend and tell me how it goes.
So looks like you’ve got a busy weekend now. Thankfully you have Sunday to recover before work beckons on Monday.
