Terrapin Beer Co. Grand Opening
March 14, 2008 by Mario
A while back I let you readers know about a brewery in Georgia having some problems with the state. Well, the little guys won, and I am still claiming full responsibility for said victory. Some time has passed and they are now ready to open their doors to the public and serve beers brewed in Gerogia at their very own establishment.
So what do you do when celebrating a grand oepning of a brewery in Georgia? Well, if your name is Steve and you work for Terrapin BeerCo. you paint your mustache green and claim youself victor of the protect mustache competition. The rest of the guys thought bigger. So join them on Saturday, March 29th for their Grand Opening from 2-6.
On tap will be their three year-rounders (Rye Pale Ale, Golden Ale and India style Brown Ale), their Imperial Pils and Rye Squared from the Monster Beer Tour, and a new beer called Hop Shortage, a hoppy brew with a story behind it, so make sure to ask them. There may also be a surprise brew on tap, but I guess you’ll have to show up and see what that may be.
Georgia law (not again!) won’t allow them to serve their own food at the brewery but food vendors will be on site. Music will be provided by Grogus, a local Latin-Jazz Quartet that Steve claims is “really cool” and Adrian. Adrian is the lead singer from a local Dub-Reggae band, Dubconscious.
Apparently, they’ve got a music festival and other events in the works, so stay tuned for news out of Athens, GA. If you want to see their nifty flier for the event, click here. Print it out, give it to friends, tell them Mario and Brewed for Thought sent ya and you will get absolutely nothing in return. If you’re lucky, you might get to see the green ’stache in action.
