R.I.P. Hoptown Brewing Company

It’s always sad when a brewery closes.  For me, it’s even more sad when said brewery is one I haven’t had the chance to really try.  Hoptown Brewing Company falls into that category.  Keep reading for more information. 

I always saw the Hoptown bottles in the aisles of BevMo and figured “Maybe next time” as I move on looking for a specific beer I had in mind.  Well it looks like my next trip to BevMo will be specifically to see what is left of the Hoptown bottles.  It seems as if Hoptown has been in trouble for some time now.  For the whole story, read what William Brand says about the closing here.

Hopefully I’ll be able to find a few bottles and I’ll give Hoptown a proper farewell.  If you can find some bottles, make sure to give it a shot.  Brewery closings always act as a reminder, drink local, if we don’t support our local breweries, who will?
