One of my favorite past times is watching sports. One great way to enhance the activity (or lack thereof) of watching sports is to drink beer. Yet another way would be to make claims about the results of those athletic contests and wager an amount of beer that you’re going to be correct. Well, I was wrong.
The bet: Colorado Rockies vs. Arizona Diamond Backs in the 2007 National League Championship Series. I took the Diamond Backs.
The wager: One mixed six-pack of regional beers.
The winner: Sam
I know, the NLCS was in October, and here we are in the end of June. Originally, the deal was to get the beer to the winner (in ths case Sam) by the end of spring Training. I was attempting to get him a bottle of Death and Taxes, but this proved to be more difficult than I thought. Then, well, I just got lazy. BUt Sam will soon have his 6 beers. Here are his winnings, in all their glory.
- Moylans Kilt Lifter Scotch Ale
- Firestone Double Barrel Ale
- Lagunitas Sonoma Farmhouse Hop Stoopid
- Humboldt Red Nectar Ale
- Speakeasy Prohibition Ale
- Rats in the Attic homebrew
Yes, the Rats in the attic is in the bottle and ready to drink. I’ve felt it needs a little more time before I give it a full review, but promise I will do this soon. Sam asked specifically for the Double barrel and Kilt lifter. He’s told me a big fan of Lagunitas, so I had to include the Hop Stoopid. Red Nectar is one of my favorites, so that made the cut, and I love the style of Speakeasy’s packaging, not to mention, they have tasty brews. The homebrew, you have to share when you can.
Enjoy Sam.
