Thoughtful Brew Crew

MARIO (Santa Rosa, CA) Still using the extract brewing system, but current costs of extract are pushing me towards an all grain system. I don’t brew nearly as much as I like but make sure I drink plenty of beer. Since I began writing the blog, I’ve noticed a definite trend towards bigger beers. Click the tab above to see what beers are hanging out in my closet waiting for the right moment to be opened. Some of my favorite breweries are Anderson Valley, Stone Brewing, and Rogue.

BRIAN (Oakland, CA) Brian has been a home brewer since he turned 21 – a GRAND total of 6 years now. He’s been brewing all-grain for four years and loves it. Brian is the only contributor with any professional experience and regrets it. Without naming any breweries in particular, let’s just say he is no fan of corporations buying craft breweries to reduce competition – especially those that are named after Pharaohs’ enormous tombs. He’s always interested to try a new beer – unless it has the stigma of “macro” somewhere within its beerly soul. When not drinking beer at home, Brian is usually off somewhere mountainous drinking beer.

WES (Corvallis, OR) Wes is away in Paris right now. He has been given a mission to go to Belgium, and drink beer. He has also been instructed to bring back beer. Will he succeed?

DAVE (Gainesville, FL) I’m a full-time beer drinker. I love beer. I love talking about beer, thinking about beer and enjoying all things beer. I also like watching sports and playing music, but only while drinking beer. I also like saying and typing the word, “beer.” Beer.

SAM (Toledo, OH) Resident apprentice brewer, plan to be making my first brew over this holiday season. Used to be a wine fanatic, but have found the true love for craft and import brews. I hope to bring a fresh love of Mid-West style mixed with European classics. Favorite beers and breweries include Great Lakes, New Holland, and Smithwicks.
