Running errands the afternoon brought me to downtown Santa Rosa. While heading back to the car I found myself on a corner where I could see the outdoor seating for Russian River only a few yards away. Dinner with the in laws was more than 30 from that time, plenty of time to grab a beer.  (more…)

When you haven’t had a beer for three weeks, you’ll do a lot to get just the right beer. When I knew I would be without beer for a while I told my wife that we were going to Russian River Brewing on February 18th for dinner. I was going to have a pint of Pliny the Younger. Can I just say that I love living in the town that produces Russian River beers. Local festivals always have a unique brew from Vinnie and their fanastic lineup is always available at the pub on 4th street. They are a high quality, low volume brewery. That is, until now.  (more…)

One of the goals of this blog is to expose our small corner of the world to everyone out there. Living in Santa Rosa, I’m in the middle of, what I consider to be, one of the best beer producing regions in the world. Bear Republic, Lagunitas and Russian River are all based within a 15 minute drive of my home, and as you trek north into Mendocino County you only find more quality breweries. But that involves driving, and when drinking these quality beers it’s bet to not have the car keys in hand. This is why Downtown Santa Rosa might be considered one of the best places to spend an afternoon drinking beer. Put on some comfy shoes, we’re going for a walk. (more…)
