We hear a lot of news of breweries merging, buyout out others, but it is typically the big fish eatting the smaller fish, or the small fish swimming together. Well it appears that InBev, one of the biggest fish, is looking to takeover Anheuser-Busch.
A-B stock rallied today under speculation that InBev was planning a $46 billion takeover of Anheuser Busch. More on this can be found at Brew Blog. While I don’t have a whole lot to say on this, it is a big deal in the brewing industry.
So what do you see coming from this potential takeover? InBev is based out of Belgium and owns brands such as Beck’s, Stella Artois, Franziskaner/Spaten, Labatt, Hoegaarden, and Bass. Could they potentially lead to an improvement in the Anheuser-Busch product? Hopefully I’ll have more on this as it progresses.
