Recently I’ve started going to the gym regularly. My wife and I got memberships at a fairly nice place. Racquetball, pool, sauna, whirlpool, daycare, the whole deal. One other thing they have that I see as a serious plus, 4 taps at the snack bar. Isn’t America great? (more…)

It’s Sunday morning, you’re sitting in front of the TV to watch whatever game might be on TV for the given season. It might be 11 am, but the sun is bright and you’re thirsty. You head to the fridge and to your dismay, find no beer. What’s worse, you live in a state like Colorado. Looks like you’ll have to wait to drink beer until your Monday morning commute. But fear not Colorado residents, things may be looking up. (more…)

February is a busy month, and while this theme is far more important than the previous theme, I wanted to put the proper effort forward and spotlight not just an African American, but one of the greats in the industry. (more…)

So I’ve been thinking about the news. There’s a lot of it. Not all of it is worthy of a single post, but it’s still worth knowing. So I’ll try to keep everyone up to date with a weekly (hopefully) rundown of what’s going on in the world of beer. (more…)

Hey, did you know February is Strong Beer Month. This is specifically something between Magnolia and 21st Amendment breweries in San Francisco, but can we really say that it doesn’t deserve to be a universally acknowledged event? We’ve had the Bistro’s Double IPA festival, Toronado’s Barleywine festival, barleywines are hitting the shelves and let’s face it, is there a better month to crack open a beer that will warm the soul than February? I popped a couple bottles this week in honor of Strong Beer Month and wanted to share them with you. (more…)

For my birthday I received a nice amount of money to spend on beer at BevMo. Sunday, before the weather got too nasty, I decided to spend a little of it. I didn’t want to spend too much, thirty or forty dollars. Enough to stock the fridge and maybe add a beer or two t the closet. Let’s see how I did. (more…)

Not a whole lot to say in this post. It’s really a one sentence thing, but I need to stretch it out. All the background information was already written about. So who is the Beer Drinker of the Year? (more…)
Capital Crime?

As beer drinkers, we have a lot of problems facing our favorite beverage. Not only is beer a regulated beverage due to its alcoholic content, we are also seeing price increases due to raw material shortages. This gets worse when the steel in kegs is worth more than the keg, and breweries see their overhead increasing to replace increasingly more expensive kegs. Today, there’s more bad news. The direct theft of our fermented malt and hop beverage. (more…)
Hops Madness: Round 1

Well, the National IPA Championship has completed Round 1 and I have to say, I’m kind of bummed. I don’t know much about the inner workings of this competition, but I am entitled to my opinion on this competition that has absolutely no real world consequences. (more…)
